Nicotinuric acid (NUA) is a metabolite of niacin. Measurement of NUA levels in urine is used to indicate possible elevated nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) catabolism. NUA may be used as a reference (standard curve) in analysis of NAD and NUA catabolism.
